Dick's house in France
This spiral is found in many places in the natural world
For a detailed account see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci
The original design for the house is based on a Fibonacci spiral
The spiral is derived from the Fibonacci series: 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21......... adding two numbers together to produce the next.
If you divide one Fibonacci number by the previous one you get this series; 1,2,1.5, 1.67, 1.6, 1.625, 1.615, which as you go on gets closer and closer to 1.618 - a number known to the Ancient Greeks as the golden mean. It was used in many of their greatest buildings, and has been used by modern architects such as Le Corbusier.
